Applied Behavior Analysis Therapist Carmel

MindWay ABA Therapy

(Previously Known as Autism Parent Care)

The Only ABA Therapy in Carmel Guided by qEEG Brain Mapping

qEEG (Quantitative Electroencephalogram) is a safe, painless brain mapping tool that helps us see how your child’s unique brain works, kind of like a window into their brain wave patterns and activity. With this insight, we can design ABA therapy that truly fits how your child learns best, rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.

At MindWay ABA, we’re more than behavior therapists. We’re partners in your child’s growth and a soft place to land right here in Carmel, Indiana. Located in the heart of Hamilton County, our board-certified Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapists help individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder develop communication, social, and life skills through individualized, play-based programs. Every session is guided by compassion, expertise, and your loved one’s unique potential. Families throughout Carmel trust us because we deliver care that goes beyond behavior to understand how our clients think, learn, and connect through brain-mapping enhanced ABA therapy.

qEEG-Guided ABA Therapy

Kids ABA Therapy in Carmel, IN

Families in Carmel choose MindWay ABA because our clinic goes beyond behavior plans and observations. We bring together the precision of brain-based data through qEEG brain-mapping, compassionate ABA therapy, and the strength of holistic care, all delivered locally by a dedicated Carmel-based clinical team.

Data-Driven, Brain-Based Care

Since the brain is where true change starts, that is where we start at MindWay ABA in Carmel. We use qEEG brain mapping to determine how your child thinks, feels, and behaves. This enables our ABA therapy programs to go beyond superficial behaviors and create plans that are supportive, organic, and precisely tailored to your child's particular brain.

Medication Management & monitoring

Dr. Yip comes from a background in neuropharmacology (studying drugs), and recommends them conservatively and as a last resort. She advocates for measuring and monitoring the drug's impact on the brain over time by using qEEG mind mapping technology to keep close tabs on how the brain is being affected by medication.

Holistic & Collaborative Approach

We believe lasting change happens when every part of a child’s health team works together. That’s why MindWay ABA intentionally collaborates with psychologists, educators, counselors, and medical professionals. It's the only way to truly create a cohesive, plan for the whole child. No single discipline has all the answers—but together, we can help your child thrive from every angle: brain, behavior, and heart.

Parent Training & Support Groups

It is the parents who fuel the development of every child. Our Carmel Parent Training and Support Groups offer the skills, direction, and inspiration that are necessary for families to keep improving at home. Led by our compassionate BCBAs and clinicians, these sessions blend practical techniques with emotional support, making parents feel empowered, confident, and celebratory through each step of the ABA therapy process.

"Every child has unique potential waiting to be understood — not generalized."

BCBA-D & Neuroscientist — Founder & Clinical Director

Hi, I’m Dr. Jane Yip, and I’m so glad you’re here.

When your child is struggling, it can be overwhelming. You want a plan that gives you hope and answers that make sense. That is why I founded MindWay ABA (formally Autism Parent Care) in Carmel Indiana: to help families understand the “why” behind each child’s behavior through science and compassion.

I spent years researching how the brain learns and processes information before starting MindWay, formerly Autism Parent Care. I did research at Boston University and Eli Lilly before receiving my PhD in neuroscience from the University of Newcastle in Australia.

Today, that research lives on in every session we offer, where brain mapping meets evidence-based ABA therapy to help each client grow, connect, and thrive. I’ve published two books — Through Their Eyes and Burnout in the Age of Overload — to help families and professionals apply this science at home and at work.

FAQ

anything

ABA stands for, “Applied Behavior Analysis” and is a research-based therapy that helps individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder acquire new skills, enhance communication, regulate emotions, and grow in their independence. Therapy consists of breaking down basic skills into smaller steps and working with the patient in their natural environments such as home, school, or out in the community.

Brain-based ABA therapy means combining behavior analysis with neuroscience to create the most personalized and effective autism therapy possible. Using FDA approved, non-invasive qEEG brain mapping technology, clinicians are able to understand how the brain is functioning and where circuits are being disrupted. This data points to the root causes of behavioral challenges and offers profound insight into best treatment options.

It’s simple. We go deeper than traditional behavior therapy by using neuroscience to understand what is actually happening (or not happening) in your child’s brain. This gives us the information we need to understand why behaviors occur, not just what they look like. This makes all the difference in the world when it comes to designing more precise and effective treatment plans for your child.

ABA is most effective between the ages of 2 and 6 years old. The earlier ABA therapy is started, the easier it is for the brain to change and form new connections due to it’s higher state of plasticity. Laying a strong foundation during early development significantly increases the chances of improving language, learning basic social skills, and achieving long-term independence.
